Remember this day
November 27th, 2008
The awful stuff coming out of Mumbai is one thing, but here’s another: the Indian government asking for live Twitter updates to cease to protect their operations. For all sorts of reasons, this seems to be significant.

I am not party to what’s going on and no longer work in the field of risk management. But I did.. and when I did it was sometimes frustrating that certain members of the media didn’t fully understand that information broadcast freely to those who had a right to know was also available to the bad guys…
I understand this Carole, however where is the line drawn? Here in the US ‘operations’ by the government are considered “State Secrets” or “Relevant to National Security” Of course we all know in many cases this is untrue. The government NEVER has a right to silence its people, the people ARE the government, even in cases where it may inform the enemy. If this is happening then I suggest watching the information pertaining to the movements of the enemy as well, this does happen to go both ways. Censorship is a one way road however, one no one wishes to travel down.
